PLANNING: OUR TREATMENT

Molly is a young English girl who is sent to rural France to learn French and get work experience. Her mother decides to send Molly to stay with her aunt, Sybil, who she has only met once when she was an infant. Upon arrival Molly soon realises Sybil is not the person her family remember. Over each day the aunty becomes more controlling and turns Molly's experience into a life or death game, made into a twisted gameshow. The audience catch glimpses of surveillance cameras. Throughout the trailer there are different filters between shots to distinguish between normal shots and gameshow footage.

Torture ideas:
- Maggots in food
- bloody sheets
- stranger at door
- spying on aunt, looking through her bedroom door, then aunt storms towards her

Location
-Back of Sixth form centre

In second to last sense we see Molly in bathroom looking into mirror (distraught), then hears surveillance camera move, looks towards it. She clocks that she's being watched. Then stares into camera and we see shot of cameras point of view. Next scene is family on sofa watching TV.

The last scene shows a family watching TV and the camera is placed at the back of their heads showing them watching the girl screaming on a TV screen.

  1. You have been creative in your ideas for this treatment which looks very promising. It is framed rather like The Truman Show in that your protagonist is unwittingly the subject of a cruel 'reality TV' experience. This is most intriguing. You have the opportunity to develop many of the thriller and horror conventions, and in class you have already sketched out some of these.
